During my winter break, I participated in one of BBYO Passport’s trips: Ambassadors to Argentina. I didn't quite know what to expect at first. I was going to be a tourist in my own hometown, at least for most of the trip. A bit strange, right?

As someone who actually lives in Argentina, I wasn’t aware of how many amazing opportunities there are for tourists. A2A gave me a newfound appreciation for my home. From the beautiful sunsets over the Recoleta Cemetery to the vibrant colours of Caminito. Most importantly, I realized how fortunate the Jewish community in Argentina is to have so many Jewish schools, Community Centers, and a myriad of other communal places available for us to indulge in our religion.

I’ll always remember how shy everyone was during the first hour or so of the trip, but by dinner we were all laughing and becoming closer with every passing minute. I’ll never forget the excitement we felt as we anxiously awaited the boat ride that would take us under the waterfalls, or the amazing weekend we spent at Hebraica with other teens from BBYO in Argentina. But most importantly, I will cherish the friendships and experiences forever.

Ambassadors to Argentina will always hold a special place in my heart. To everyone that was a part of it… thank you!
