In just a few short days, over 3,500 of the movement’s teens will gather together in Orlando for the centennial IC celebration. Now, not only is this normally a huge convention, but the centennial makes it even more special. With that being said, some teens may be attending for their first time and others for their third or fourth, but in my opinion it’s extremely important to remember a few key things throughout the course of the convention. Whether you're a first timer or a seasoned IC veteran, these things are vital to remember.

Firstly, this convention is HUGE. Sometimes that can make things very stressful or overwhelming. Remember that it is okay to feel this way. Everyone goes through things like stress every day at IC. My best piece of advice for this is to take some deep breaths or find a quiet space to go to. At the end of the day remember you are with your best friends from around the world, and you have an incredible support system.

Next, get some sleep! Your brain will be running at a million miles a minute, and there will always be some cool experience or activity to do. At the end of the day remember that this convention is jam-packed with awesome things to do, so you will need your rest. Once you arrive in Orlando, take a look at the IC app and see what's going on for the rest of the week. From there you'll be able to plan exactly what you want to attend.

Finally, and most importantly live in the moment. Embrace every obstacle, challenge, or curveball that might happen at IC. This centennial celebration is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Take advantage of this amazing experience. Try new things, meet new people, and step outside of your comfort zone. You never know what will be waiting for you just around the corner in Orlando, so don’t take this experience for granted.

When this convention is all said and done every teen should look back and be excited about everything they participated in and happy that they went. Along with that, it is extremely important to take care of yourself and do what is best for you. The convention will be absolutely amazing no matter what you do, so make sure to remember that!
